I'm grateful to run a business in an industry I'm genuinely passionate about: personal development.
I'm a wife and mother of two grown daughters living in Alberta, Canada.
After over 25 years in healthcare, I knew I wanted something flexible that would allow me to work part time hours around my declining health. This business allows me to take the time to look after myself and enjoy my life. I can work portably from anywhere.
My passion is to help driven men and women who are eager to create this kind of freedom and flexibility in their own lives.
THE PROBLEM THAT LED ME HERE: I started my online business journey after working as a medical laboratory technologist for well over 20 years. Looking back, I'm not sure where all those years went, and I had no idea what I should tackle next.
I really didn't know what else I could do, so I started looking online for opportunities.
It all came about after my health had been steadily declining over the years. I finally got to a point where I physically and mentally could no longer work the frenzied pace and crazy hours.
I went on an extended leave from work, and although I learned to manage some of my symptoms, I was unable to achieve the level of health I needed to continue in that career.
I TOOK SOME ONLINE COURSES...
I trained as a medical transcriptionist in hopes of working remotely for a transcription company. It didn't go so well. I graduated and found employment, but the quick turnaround times forced me to spend too much time sitting and this worsened my condition even more. I was still happy I'd done it. It allowed me to update my skills and showed me that in my late forties at the time, I could still learn new things. That gave me a confidence boost, and so I continued looking for opportunities.
THE BOOK THAT INTRODUCED ME TO PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT:
I love to read. One afternoon, I discovered The Secret, by Rhonda Byrne. It talks about the law of attraction and how what you think about, you bring about. It really resonated with me, and after reading it, I knew I needed to find a way to change my mindset. My love for personal development was born and it was right around that time that this business found me!
I admit that I was a little skeptical at first, but this opportunity was exactly what I was looking for. I had missed so many life events in my previous role and I knew I wanted flexibility this time around. This opportunity checked that box. It gave me the freedom and flexibility to work around my health and design my own schedule.
I took the leap and jumped on board - the rest is history!
